Rated 3 out of 5 by Recent software updates Just wanted to follow up with my first review of this product. There has been a couple software updates for the add-on boxes for the maximus/GDS tools. They've added alternator output voltage on the results page at the end of testing for in vehicle battery/system testing. also added cranking voltage to output display. October 13, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by NIce addition, but missing some key components This Battery test box is a nice add-on to my Maximus. It does exactly what it says, it'll test a battery using most any style scale you want, CCA, JDA,..etc, and it'll give you a result of tested output, then it'll run a starter and alternator test. and if you have the add-on printer, or connected to a wifi printer, you can print this out for the customer. the problem i have with this battery tester it doesn't show you what the starter draw voltage was during the test it doesn't show you what the alternator output was during the test. if you read the owner's/operators manual they give you a "range" for these values based on what message you get from the scanner, but a simple voltage display would've been a lot easier from a customer's viewing point, and from the technician side of things, i'd like to know exactly what it's putting out, considering the amount this add-on box costs August 16, 2013
