Rated 5 out of 5 by SolemnOstrich Flashlights begone! Urging and urging, day in and out from co-workers saying I need a flashlight so I can see. They wanted me to get a pen light and hold it in my mouth as they did. I blatantly showed my refusal by purchasing this amazing headlamp. Let's start with this headlamp having a score of functions that even a flashlight does not have. -3 settings for when you turn it on ranging from; low-high, high-low, and high-strobe -Dimming wheel taking you from 15 to 300 lumens should you need -Led light in the back that is colored red and either blinks or not -Tilting head with several positions -Focusing ring taking you from flood to focused beam -Soft headband and a foam backing on the mount -Rechargeable from 0-100% in 5 hours -Able to use batteries or the rechargeable pack Now I bought this and co-workers and friends complained of how expensive this was and how I should have just purchased a flashlight. To be blunt, that just isn't feasible as a diesel mechanic when I stay filthy and drop everything on a dirtier-than-I floor. The headlamp stays perfectly in place and really on my only con comes from laying on a creeper and the rear dial gets switched on a lot. Also if you lay on the dial for too long you star unintentionally changing settings. I've used this on medium up to high for eight hours and it did not die. Now if you leave it on high it will die in about 6 hours but otherwise does not. It blinks to notify you of low batter and on the rear dial when you initially turn it on, it shows red, orange, or green for battery indication. November 29, 2014
