Rated 5 out of 5 by Boyler Durable torch, ready for the field! This is the second T235 torch I have purchased, the first one stays in my toolbox, the second in the service truck. I have used this torch an endless number of times in all types of weather. I have dropped the torch multiple times on concrete (on accident) and it never fails! This is a must have tool if you do any electrical work, perfect for solder or heat-shrink tubing. You can even adjust it so you get just the right flame when your in a tight area like under the dash. It does require two hand operation to ignite but it becomes second nature in no time. September 7, 2011
Rated 3 out of 5 by LoweredExpectations Not the last torch you'll ever buy, but a good one to start with I've used this torch for 3+ years, and it finally flamed its last flame this past week. Not bad. I'll start with what always bugged me about this torch: the clumsy two-handed safety ignition. Annoying at best, and a PITA at worst. I eventually found a way to turn the thing on with a weird combination of movement of my hand and thumb, but I prefer tools that work, not tools that make me work to make them work. Also, the air jet collar would constantly get knocked out of adjustment because it was simply too easy to turn if something brushed against it. The torch started failing when the lock lever became unable to move. Not a huge problem, just hold the knob down all the time. After 2 years of this, the gas delivered by the knob on the back became inconsistent, requiring full-open starts and then dialing down to the flame size I needed. Then it stopped delivering gas or triggering the piezo altogether. But it took over three years to get there. I used it on everything from small brazing jobs, large soldering jobs, wire soldering, silver soldering fittings onto the end of bowden cables, heat shrink, and every other possible thing that needed controlled heat and could tolerate an open flame. And it worked very well at all of these things. Plenty of features (some of which you don't want at all), great performance, and it kept working for a long time after it started to break. Rated 4 out of 5 by steelspin Many uses. I've used it for soldering, to start campfires, for shrink wrap, and to heat smaller nuts and bolts. I tried to braze with it, but it's just not quite hot enough for the rod I had. It might work for some brazing rods. Usually starts by the second attempt and resists blowing out in the wind pretty well. It is shipped empty, so you will need some butane to use it. January 3, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by JeramiH Awesome product This torch is great, fill it up with some butane and you'll be using it for hours and hours. I've used it for everything from shrink tubing to burning color onto wooden antlers Great product. December 30, 2011
