Not a mechanic. I'm a flashlight fanatic. Now I'm a Matco fan.I had a day of modifications planned for my 03 Wrangler and my only available workspace was a dim and poorly lit garage. I have a halogen work light but its versatility is limited and the amount of heat they throw off can be more than annoying. I bought a used one of these from a pawn shop last night on a whim and was worried about the price they were asking (buying used I have no idea how the PO treated it). Having just finished installing my new shocks and control arms 30 minutes ago I'm no longer worried about that price. I had this thing on from 9 this morning till 5 tonight with only a couple of brief moments with it turned off and it's still showing 3/4 of a charge left. Tons of lights have magnets, but in my experience they are either underpowered or improperly placed to do much good. Not these. Instead of compromising between working blind in the dark, or working blind because of the blinding halogen cooking my face off, I just stuck this right up in my suspension and forgot about it. When i moved to the other side i didn't have to tug a tangled cord after me. To top off the incredible versatility of this light, it's as rugged as anything I've encountered. I might even say the toughest light I've owned. It got dropped numerous times onto the concrete floor, mostly handing it back and forth with my friend. One time as it bounced off the floor it was also accidentally kicked and ended up slamming into the far wall. I have barely owned it 24 hours and I'm already dreading the day this thing dies. When it inevitably does I will be purchasing another one. Or maybe i won't wait till then. Two had to be better than one, right?
My only concern is if it's waterproof. Couldn't find anything in the product description and I don't have an owners manual. The way it looks and behaves I'd be extremely surprised if it wasn't at least water resistant.
