Useless for CatsI asked my local Matco Tool Guy if this would datastream 1997 through 2007 caterpillar engines that are in the trucks that I frequently work on. I was told yes. After a week of not being able to use it because it wouldn't plug into the data port he had to call tech support to find out the adapter was made wrong and you have to hack at it with a knife to get it to even plug in. It then takes a month of Sundays to connect. The automatic connect usually uses the wrong version so don't waste your time with that. After it connects I can only see 4 temperatures, whether or not the cruise is turned on or off & the throttle position or less depending on the truck. Now I am being told "It is just a diagnostic reader" which isn't what I was told at time of purchase. I specifically asked if it would data stream the way my millennium 90 pro does (which is an amazing tool, I love it) I was told YES, it obviously does not. After Google searching it I should have bought it from Amazon which is over 40% less then the traveling tool guy. Amazon also has never screwed me, but I guess say whatever you have to say to get that sale & the $ in your pocket. Almost $800 after tax gone for something that does less than a $15 Harbor Freight temp gun (when they are on sale). If the traveling tool guy does not have a demo to show you, buy at your own risk. I don't want a credit I can use on his truck, I want a scanner that does what I was told it does or my $ back.

Great product!I bought this to keep up with the happenings of my peterbuilt (company truck). Did very well telling me about the engine lights. Also found it works very well with Mack trucks and off road equipment jlg skytrak or most anything with a diag port. Highly recommend for the guy caught between operator and mechanic.

for a code reader, this thing does a lot.i was just looking for a hd code reader to replace the mac hd code reader. i needed something to read the hd green 9 pin system. i found this one will also do regens on some of the bigger engines (cat c7s, and cummins 6.7 are the 2 engines i used it on). it did not do the ford diesels, but i have other scan tools for those. the biggest thing that i like is that it reads all obd2 systems (all of the car and light truck stuff). it can also monitor a lot of engine data.
still cant find anything that will read Allison trans other than Allison doc. couldn't read Bendix air brakes or wabco hyd brake systems.
other things i like is the speed of the boot up and that it has no batteries. plug it in and it turns on, unplug it and it turns off. hd side of it can be slow, but is a lot faster then connecting the computer.
